“Nite of Nostalgia” A proper response for a Good Cause.

When the intentions are clear there will be plenty of support from likeminded people and organisations to fulfill the ambitions. At least that has been the experience of Ozindcare for the past 20 years. It was not any different when the program “nite of Nostalgia” was staged. In spite of staging the program on a Sunday evening and having no overseas artist’s presence, there was a huge turnout of supporters for the worthy cause. The program was well received.

(George Thomas (Shaji), Priya and Teddy with the artists )

The Swanthana Centre, situated in Bangalore, India, initiated by the Sisters of Saint Camillus order, was founded to welcome and take care of girls who have been orphaned or abandoned because of their disabilities. By conducting this program not only that Ozindcare is able to collect much needed funds, but the message and the awareness about “Swanthana” was well conveyed.
When Shaji, Priya and Teddy approached Ozindcare to help Swanthana, we had no hesitation to work with them. Earlier this year, one of our committee members had visited Swanthana and felt the need to join hands to help them to continue their service. Ozindcare is able to raise over $8000/- through this program. We would like to thank everyone who had helped to make this event a success.

The stage program was coordinated by Shaji with live music to compliment the singers. Some of the well known singers were generous to participate for this noble cause. Emie Roy was the MC for the program and James Chacko introduced the songs to the audience. After the music segment, a fusion dance of Mohiniyattam and western was performed by Nachle Dance School  which was a special treat.

If you like to sponsor a child in Swanthana, please write to us by email: admin@ozindcare.com

Prajod's Appeal

Recently Ozindcare had appealed for Prajod Chetham Vally, an indian expatriate in Melbourne who was critically ill. He is the only bread earner in the family. We had an overwhelming response from the public and we were able to collect $5340.99. A cheque with this amount has been handed over by one of our representatives and former committee member Mr. John Jacob when he visited Melbourne last week. Ozindcare would like to thank all those who contributed towards this appeal.
